Devil's Square — Horde Hunt Guide

Devil's Square is the premier mass-kill event on MajesticMU — 20 players fight through escalating monster waves and compete for the top kill count. The player who kills the most wins the biggest EXP bonus, making this a PvE competition as much as a cooperative event.

Event Schedule

Devil's Square runs approximately 22 times per day, starting at the :20 and :50 of each active hour. Key sessions: 3:20 AM, 5:20 AM, then every 2 hours, with an evening dense block from 21:20 through 2:50 AM.

Each session lasts 20 minutes.

Monster Wave Timeline

Time Wave
Minutes 0–7 Wave 1 — Weakest monsters for the tier
Minutes 5–14 Wave 2 — Medium monsters overlap with Wave 1
Minutes 12–20 Wave 3 — Strongest monsters for the tier
Minute 15 4 corner bosses spawn

Corner Boss Encounters

At minute 15, four boss-tier monsters spawn at the corners of the arena. In higher tiers these are extremely strong:

Tier Corner Boss
DS1 Giant Ogre 7 (4 corners)
DS2 Illusion of Kundun 5 (4 corners)
DS3 Cursed Muff (4 corners)
DS4 Balram (4 corners)
DS5 Swamp Monster (4 corners)
DS6 Deep Dungeon Gorgon (4 corners)
DS7 Dead Porter + Scorched Wizard + Tiger (Blue)

Corner bosses drop better items and give more kill score. Prioritize them in the final 5 minutes.

Kill Ranking

The kill ranking tracks kills from all sources — waves AND corner bosses. Top 4 players receive bonus EXP and Zen:

Rank EXP Bonus Zen Bonus
1st place Highest (see tier table) Highest
2nd place ~92% of 1st ~93% of 1st
3rd place ~85% of 1st ~80% of 1st
4th place ~77% of 1st ~60% of 1st

Class Recommendations

Best for kill ranking:

  • Summoner / Dimension Master — Wide AoE spells, highest potential kill count per second
  • Soul Master / Grand Master — AoE lightning and fire skills, excellent wave clear
  • Muse Elf / High Elf — Penetration Arrow hits multiple targets in a line

Good solo performers:

  • Blade Knight — High DPS, good for boss kills in the final phase
  • Magic Gladiator — Hybrid skills cover both melee and ranged targets

Strategy Guide

Minutes 0–7: Maximize Wave 1 Clear

Rush to the highest monster density area and use your best AoE skill. Every kill counts from the first second. Do not waste time repositioning — pick a good central spot and hold it.

Minutes 5–14: Wave Transition

As Wave 2 spawns overlapping with Wave 1, the monster density is highest. This is your prime kill window. Continuously cast AoE skills; avoid waiting for cooldowns by alternating between 2–3 skills.

Minutes 12–15: Wave 3 Setup

Wave 3 brings the strongest monsters. Some classes will deal less efficient AoE here. Adapt — single-target burst classes can shine against the tough Wave 3 enemies.

Minutes 15–20: Corner Boss Rush

At minute 15, immediately move to the nearest corner boss. Kill it quickly for kill score, then move to the next corner. Corner bosses give better item drops than wave monsters.

Rewards Summary

  • All participants: EXP from kills, item drops, Jewels from monster death drops
  • Top 4 players: Ranking bonus EXP and Zen (see tier table)
  • DS7 top player: 26,000 EXP bonus + 150,000 Zen bonus — significant even at endgame
