Socket System guide for MajesticMU — how to obtain socket necklaces, Seed Spheres, Tier 1 to Tier 2 upgrade recipe, success rates and Ruud costs.
Overview
The Socket System allows players to enhance accessories by inserting Seed Spheres into Socket Necklaces, granting powerful elemental bonuses and additional stats. There are two progression tiers — each with its own drop sources, materials, and upgrade requirements.
Tier 1: Socket Necklaces
How to Obtain
Socket Necklaces drop from high-level bosses:
Crimson Devourer (10% total drop rate)

Seed Spheres insert into Socket Necklace slots to grant elemental bonuses.

Steps
- Level your Tier 1 Socket Necklace to +11 minimum using the Chaos Machine.
- Purchase the Socket Upgrade Note from Priest James (5,000 Ruud).
- Gather all required materials.
- Visit the Chaos Goblin (Combination NPC).
- Attempt the upgrade — 80% success rate.
On failure (20% chance): The necklace is destroyed. Always have a backup Tier 1 necklace before attempting.

Progression Tips
- Start with Crimson Devourer — easier to farm than ZarKeth, good entry point.
- Farm Sphere Upgrade Rune Capsules from the Ruud Shop to supplement sphere drops.
- Save for Tier 2 once your Tier 1 has excellent options — don't upgrade a weak necklace.
- Match spheres to your class — choose elemental types that align with your primary skills.
