Bosses Updated: Apr 29, 2026

Overview

Medusa is one of MajesticMU's signature world bosses — a serpentine queen that inhabits the Swamp of Calmness. She is notorious for her Petrification ability, which can instantly immobilise players and leave them vulnerable to her devastating follow-up strikes.

Location

Medusa spawns in the Swamp of Calmness. She is an event-triggered boss that appears via the server's invasion system — watch for the global announcement when she spawns.

Spawn & Respawn

  • Respawn timer: Approximately 2–3 hours after death.
  • Server announcement: Broadcast when Medusa spawns and when she is killed.
  • Instance type: Open world — all players on the server can participate.

Combat & Tactics

Key Abilities

  • Petrification Gaze — Medusa's most dangerous move. Freezes a random target for 3–5 seconds. During petrification you cannot move, attack, or use items.
  • Poison Breath — Deals DoT poison damage in a cone in front of her. Strafe to the sides to avoid.
  • Serpent Strike — Heavy melee hit with knockback. Maintain distance if you're a ranged class.
  • Summon Snakes — Periodically calls serpent minions that can disrupt your positioning.

Tips for Surviving Medusa

  1. Never stand directly in front of her — Poison Breath and Petrification Gaze both have forward-facing hitboxes.
  2. Side-strafe positioning — Melee players should attack from her flanks.
  3. Elf party member is essential — A dedicated Elf providing buffs greatly reduces the impact of Petrification.
  4. Anti-Poison gear — Equip items with Poison Reduction if available, or carry Antidote potions.
  5. Spread out — If your group clusters, one Gaze can petrify the entire party simultaneously.

Rewards & Drop Table

Defeating Medusa rewards players with:

  • 2,500 Ruud
  • 200 WCoin (Miracle Coin) — plus a chance at bonus Miracle Coins on each kill
  • Steel of Heaven — dropped in large quantities per kill
  • Muun Egg — dropped in large quantities per kill
  • Pentagram — random elemental type from the server's full Pentagram pool

Medusa is one of the best sources of Steel of Heaven and Muun Eggs in the game, making her a high-priority farming target for players working on equipment and Muun upgrades.

Notes

Medusa counts as a World Boss for the purposes of daily Ruud rewards. Participating in the kill — even without landing the killing blow — qualifies you for drop eligibility.
